What’s on Your Life Checklist?

We’ve all got one, whether its actually written on piece of paper or covered by dust in the attic of your brain. It’s a life checklist – things you want to do before you die. Goals, like buying a house or reaching a certain point in your career, seem a little more serious; a life checklist is about fun, adventure and ultimate fulfillment. So what are 12 things you want to do or experience in your life? I’ll share mine if you share yours…

My Life Checklist (subject to change and in no particular order):

  1. Go on a safari in Africa
  2. Write a book
  3. Live in New York (or abroad)
  4. Start a business
  5. Go on a yoga retreat (or teaching program) in Greece
  6. Finish a marathon (run, walk or crawl!)
  7. Go cross-country in an RV touring baseball stadiums (during baseball season)
  8. See the pyramids in Egypt
  9. Go river rafting through the Grand Canyon
  10. See a Cirque du Soleil show (or ten) in Las Vegas
  11. Learn how to make a leaf in the foam of my morning lattes
  12. Be present everyday and enjoy the ride!

Your turn! Share a few things from your checklist in the comments if you’re up for it. Meanwhile, here’s a fun checklist for inspiration.

I just got back from rafting on the Grand Canyon which should be on everyone’s checklist! It was absolutely incredible. You have some great ones on your list. I’ll adopt yours and add a few more. Thanks for the inspiration.

    1) Learn to surf. 2) Be able to fit everything I own into my car. 3) Write more. 4) Go to grad school. 5) Learn to play guitar. 6) Heli-ski in BC & Alaska. 7) Headstands and inverted yoga poses. 8) Take a year and travel around the world. 9) Personal trainer certification. 10) Kayak Cherry Creek – or any Class V river.

Also, I think for the latte foam, you fill it up 3/4 of the way, let it sit for a few minutes, and then as you’re filling it the rest of the way, draw a leaf with the liquid you’re pouring in. Does that even make sense? It’s how they taught us at the Guinness factory.

Hi Jenny! Stumbled across your blog via Facebook…seems like it’s been a very long time since first meeting you, my greatgrand-big, as a freshman in DG. Just wanted to let you know that I really like the blog and the idea behind it and especially love this post! I’ve made millions of lists of “places to travel” and “things to do” over the years, and hopefully I’ll be able to check some off in the not-too-distant future. Going on safari is definitely in my top 10, and lately I’ve really wanted to go to Cuba as soon as possible. It’s great that things are modernizing there, but I want to go before things change in order to get an idea of Castro-era, communist Cuba. Take care!
