Hi Cath! Thanks so much for your comment – totally agree that achieving our goals really comes down to identifying them and protecting ourselves against our own roadblocks. I love that you’ve already read this book! I had never heard of it before seeing it mentioned in Guillebeau’s ebook. Let me know if you have any other good ones I should read (one I really liked was “Taming Your Gremlins” by Rick Carson).

I LOVE this book! I think there’s only 2 things we really need to learn how to do to progress our goals:
1.) know what we want
2.) know how to overcome resistance and fear

And this is one of my favorite resources for nr 2. And when you see resistance as being just a part within yourself, the way Steven describes it, it seems so much more managable – it’s not YOU, it’s just a part of you… and you can negotiate with that part.

This is an amazing post. I felt so charged up after reading it. Particularly love the part about resistance and how it is just procastination. I will read this daily until I am able to internalize it. Thanks for posting this!

Matt!! Thanks so much for stopping by. You should totally write some book reviews! I also wonder if anyone reads these super long posts – but I figure it’s easy enough for those who aren’t interested to skip, and for those who do read hopefully it means you don’t have to read the whole book (unless you want to) if I can somehow provide the juiciest snippets.

If you do buy the book, let me know what you think! I know you do a lot of creative writing, so I’m sure you’re really get a lot out of it

And love what you said about fear – so true that ultimately that’s what moves us forward (and the scarier the opportunity the more important it is to us!).
