Thank you so much Kristi! Yes - sharing was almost as scary as letting
myself open up in the first place! But it was a great challenge - being
asked to blog about love - my friend said it was exactly the kind of
"homework" I needed to make my "love in 2010" intention more real - and she
was completely right. I'm so glad you liked the post - and yes, the whole
part about self-protection is so true! It really does stop us from what we
most want sometimes. Here's to both of us continuing to open up, be
vulnerable, and enjoy what we learn in the process :D

Thanks Marcos! Yes, getting up the courage to even write that post - let
alone feel those feelings - took a lot, but it was also incredibly freeing!
I'm still working my way through "Romantic Love" - learning a lot. It's so
true that being vulnerable and taking risks is where we have the most
potential for happiness - very yin and yang indeed. The ups and downs might
be more extreme than just living in the middle - but that's what makes life
exciting - and where the most growth happens. Have a fantastic weekend -
I'll be back in NYC at the end of March and we DEFINITELY have to meet up
again! I mentioned it to Lindsey too - thanks again for connecting us - she
is FABULOUS! :D

Jenny, I'd just like to give you kudos to blogging about this! I think its awesome that you opened up and shared - and in doing so did exactly what you are kinda scared to do - be vulnerable. This sort of thing - love - can be very personal (in my eyes at least) so letting the world know that you struggle with letting it in and allowing it is just awesome. And as usual, it was a great post and well written :)

And I loved this: "Because I was protecting myself from what I want most in this world, which is to feel truly seen and appreciated – and maybe, just maybe – one day even loved." Um - YES! I feel you on that soooo much. Thanks for putting it so clearly.

I love how honest you were in the post! Thanks for sharing! Being vulnerable and exposing ourselves to risk - especially emotionally - is one of the greatest challenges in life. But it is also where we have the most potential for happiness. You can't have one without the other because what makes something so valuable to us is the fact that if we lost it, we would get hurt pretty badly. It's the ying-yang of life. =) I am looking forward to hearing more about the journey you are embarking on.
