What was your overall experience of coaching with Jenny?
- “I didn’t think it was possible to get as much out of a 45 minute session as I did when I had my first call with Jenny Blake! Jenny is so easy to talk to and really knows how to ask the right questions to help you identify things about yourself that you didn’t realize existed. I hung up the call feeling inspired, motivated, excited, and most of all, confident. I don’t think I can think of a single person out there that couldn’t benefit from having a call with her! Thanks again — I really do feel like a HUGE burden/stress has been lifted thanks to our conversation today!”
—Jennifer Edwards, She’s a Fit Chick - “Amazing. I lead a very non-traditional lifestyle (river guiding) and make very little money, and Jenny was able to cater the sessions to help me prioritize and to help me find ways to prioritize spending, recognize the things that make happy, and also realize that with just a few tweaks, my lifestyle is just what I want and need right now. Additionally, we discussed and did exercises about the future, looking 1 year, 3 years, 5 years down the line and mapping out loose plans. All of her exercises are fun, easy, and applicable and Jenny does an amazing job of tying it all together.

- “I have worked with Jenny on and off for almost a year. Her insight is impeccable. She always has a way of helping you gain clarity in an often jumbled time of your life (the post grad or as I like to call it “ambiguous phase” of your mid 20′s). Her tools and methods for pulling out things that are important to you are very effective. If you are the type of person who really wants the most out of your life, and out of your career, then work with Jenny. She challenges you to do the hard steps that sometimes we want to avoid. You will always walk away with a clear idea of what it is you need to do next. But most important, working with Jenny is fun! There has never been a session where we have not both laughed and joked about how frustrating this can all be sometimes. That’s important to do. We can never take ourselves too seriously.”

- “I love talking to you – your energy and positivity is everything that I love about our sessions. I always walk away feeling super energized, really happy, with a huge smile.”
What Makes Jenny Unique and/or Effective as a Coach?
- “As an ambitious young professional, I set my career on a track in Corporate America that would have easily “landed me a corner office”. While I was very happy with the work I was doing. I knew that I wanted to do more creative writing and work with people to help them understand their own relationships and live a life they only watched in movies. In working with Jenny through a series of coaching and development exercises, I was able to plan out the steps necessary to hand over my resignation as a ladder-climber and start a freelance writing agency. Most importantly, I knew (because of the time and attention Jenny paid to my reservations, ambitions and lifestyle in general) that this was absolutely the correct move for me. No second guessing. Instead, a sense of accomplishment and feeling of content.”
—Elisa Doucette, Ophelia’s Webb
- “Jenny caters everything to you, but gives plenty of structure and uses all the time well. She also manages to tie things together well, so that when you start budgeting, it’s not just for retirement, but for fun things. One of the best things that came out of coaching for me was that I set goals for myself that weren’t just career, or money, but also fun things (ie. learning guitar) and I have set aside time to learn those things which has made me extraordinarily happy. Jenny recognizes that there is not a right way to live life, and as long as you are shining and happy in what you’re doing, and looking into the future so that your happiness remains, then you’re living the good life!”
—Tessa S., Sacramento, CA - “Jenny cares about you. And she is passionate about helping you out, and listening to you. That is HUGELY effective! Also, she really understands where you are coming from because she has been there herself. She is great at making you feel at ease because she uses some of her own personal stories to relate to what you are trying to accomplish. She’s right there with us, and “feels our pain”. But she also knows what she is doing. She is so knowledgeable about which exercise or homework will be effective for that particular issue that you will always walk away having gained something that you might have realized on your own, but only after a long period of time and after making many many mistakes.”

What Benefits Have You Experienced as a Result of Coaching? (Anonymous excerpts from client feedback)
- Coaching is the only time I’ve ever had since working here where I can be very open about how I approach my career and life choices.
- I’m more assertive about what I want and what is most important to me. Within the values framework, that has really helped me be firm in what I believe in, not second-guessing myself.
- I have more tools that I can pull out of my toolbag at different times. When I get into challenging situations, I can apply them. I’m able to really listen closely to how I’m talking to myself.
- I had everything in the back of my mind but hadn’t pushed myself to take any steps. That was the biggest difference – before I knew what I wanted but was too scared to do it. Now I’m thinking why not try it? Let’s see where it goes.
- My attitude about everything has changed, and the physical steps that I’ve taken. Coaching helped me get clear and actually take steps (the scariest part). I’m also more self-aware. Things are more flexible and more relaxed.
- I genuinely feel like I’ve learned a lot about myself and what I have strengths in that I hadn’t known about before. I learned what I value, what I want, what I want out of life and my career, and what steps I can take toward satisfying those wants and needs.
- Coaching has taught me not to be scared but to be excited instead. I feel more grounded (and not like a chicken with my head cut off).
